On September 16 INION RAN celebrated the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences with an interdisciplinary art exhibition titled "The Image of Science". The second floor featured 98 works by 40 artists, each presenting unique interpretations of contemporary science in Russia and around the world. Selected by a multidisciplinary jury during a nationwide art contest held this summer, the participants include both professional artists and amateur art enthusiasts working in science. The exhibition showcases a wide range of fine art genres, including painting, graphics, sculpture, and installation. This reflects the core mission of the organizers (INION was supported by two co-organisers - private think-tank Centero and private university MFUA): to revive the dialogue between science and art, and to bridge the gap between creative minds in both domains. The exhibition includes a special section provided by MFUA, displaying the “History of Computing” collection, which traces the evolution of calculating and computer machines over the past 150 years. It can be found on the 4th floor, next to the Museum of Origins of Social Sciences and Humanities, which is accessible from 10:00 to 20:00 on weekdays, coinciding with the Fundamental Library’s schedule. Running until December 6, the exhibition is open for visitors to join group tours and participate in interdisciplinary events, including round tables, workshops, and public talks. This event is part of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.
